Investment Guides

Guides on Investing in Iran

In-depth, practitioner-grade playbooks for foreign investors entering the Iranian market — legal framework, free zones, tax and banking mechanics, and sector-specific opportunity maps.

How the guides are built

Practitioner-grade playbooks, not high-level summaries

Each guide is written by the partner who runs that workstream day-to-day — FDI approvals, free-zone licensing, taxation and banking, sector entry — and is refreshed when the underlying law, rate, or procedure changes. They are designed to be read once before a board meeting and then used as a working checklist after.

FDI Entry

FIPPA application, OIETAI approval steps, capital import certificate, share-capital deposit, and the practical bank workflow that determines whether your registration actually clears.

Free Zones

A side-by-side of Kish, Qeshm, Chabahar, Anzali, Aras and Maku — chosen by activity, port access, customs exposure and the realistic foreign-staff visa load.

Taxation & Banking

Corporate tax, VAT, withholding, double-tax treaties, NIMA vs SANA FX channels, and the operational mechanics of moving profits out under FIPPA.

Sector Playbooks

Opinionated reads on the sectors we field the most inbound on: oil & gas, petrochemicals, mining, renewables, ICT, agribusiness — with the regulators and gatekeepers named.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How current are the guides?+

Reviewed every quarter and re-issued whenever a relevant law, rate, or procedure changes (e.g. FATF status, sanctions designations, NIMA reference-rate methodology, free-zone tax-holiday extensions).

Are they a substitute for legal advice?+

No. They are a substitute for spending your first 30 days asking the same questions everyone else asks. Final structuring still requires retained counsel — which we can introduce.

Can I get them as PDFs?+

Yes, on request. PDF versions are watermarked to your firm name and shared under a no-redistribution clause.

Do you publish guides in other languages?+

The four core guides are English. Translated executive summaries are available in Farsi, Arabic, Russian, Mandarin, and German on request.
