"We will cooperate with Iraq in reconstruction of the country," Masjedi said on Saturday.
The Iranian ambassador also described Iran-Iraq cooperation in various fields as excellent, and expressed the hope that the cooperation will further expand.
In relevant remarks last week, Iranian Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mohammad Shariatmadari and Iraqi Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jafari in a meeting in Baghdad underlined the need for the further expansion of mutual cooperation, specially in economic and trade fields.
During the meeting in the Iraqi capital on Thursday, Shariatmadari and al-Jafari explored avenues for bolstering and reinvigorating bilateral relations between the two countries' businessmen.
During the meeting, Shariatmadari declared preparedness of Iran's both governmental and private sectors for investing in Iraq.
The Iranian minister pointed to obstacles in the way of improvement of banking relations between Tehran and Baghdad, and expressed the hope that the problems will be resolved with Iraq’s central bank officials.
The Iraqi foreign minister, for his part, thanked Iran's support for Iraq and highlighted the importance of elevation of trade ties between the two capitals.
Al-Jafari expressed satisfaction over the expansion of relations between Tehran and Baghdad in all fields, and said, "Baghdad is taking pride for enjoying such relations with Tehran."
