Noting that Iran and Slovenia are determined to expand cooperation, Rouhani announced, "The Islamic Republic of Iran attaches importance to ties with the European Union and the meeting serves as a step towards cementing ties with the EU and expands relations with Slovenia in particular."
The president said that thus far, he had attended three meetings with the Slovenian counterpart as each of the meetings served as a step towards consolidation of relations between Tehran and Ljubljana.
The Iranian Executive Chief said in the talks with the Slovenian party, issues of mutual, international and regional interest were touched. "Tehran and Ljubljana share common stances on many key regional and global issues."
Part of talks held with the Slovenian party focused on importance of nuclear accord and the JCPOA, said Rouhani, adding that Iran and Slovenia admitted expansion of the two-way relations. "Tehran and Ljubljana enjoy abundant capacity for expansion of economic ties, joint investment and new technology and they should use them well."
The president said besides economic relations, the two countries emphasize expansion of cultural, scientific and technological ties and the documents signed on Tuesday in connection with the ICT and nano show that Iran and Slovenia have decided to expand cooperation in new technologies.
Pahor said in turn, "My visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran along with a large-sized economic delegation shows opening of a new chapter in relations between Iran and Slovenia."
He referred to Iran's loyalty to its commitments in the nuclear talks and said, "I ask all the parties to abide by their commitments in the talks because the agreement serves as a signal that can settle all international disputes through diplomatic channels and negotiations."
He said there are abundant capacities for expansion of bilateral relations and Slovenia is interested in using all the existing capacities. "Slovenia is determined to expand its ties to the highest possible level and tries to upgrade volume of transactions with Tehran."
The Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Slovenia signed three documents and Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) for promotion of cooperation in the economic field, communications and nano technology.
