Tehran is hosting the 20th session of the Iran-Pakistan Joint Economic Commission on April 17-18, 2017.
“With common border, culture, religion and history and immense economic and commercial capacities, Iran and Pakistan can be a great partner for each other. The economic and trade cooperation can strengthen bilateral ties and reinforce cross-border and security cooperation,” Iranian interior minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli said during this session.
“Relations between Iran and Pakistan are remarkably deep and there are historical, religious, cultural and, geographical ties between the two countries,” said the Pakistani minister for states and frontier regions Abdul Quadir Baloch, adding that the joint economic commission provides new opportunities for bilateral cooperation.
In this session, the sides will follow up on the implementation of agreements reached during the 19th session of the economic commission held in Islamabad in December 2014. Grounds for expansion of economic, trade, commercial and banking cooperation will also be evaluated by the two sides and necessary decisions will be made in this regard.
