During the meeting in Iran's Northern province of Golestan, Head of Gorgan Chamber of Commerce Ramezan Bahrami and senior agricultural officials from Kazakhstan's Kyzylorda region signed a memorandum of understanding to boost agricultural relations.
Bahrami said the newly-signed MoU pertained to extra-territorial agriculture and aimed at development of agro sector in Kazakhstan’s Kyzylorda Region in partnership with Iran's Golestan province.
“Kazakhstan hold appropriate capacities for implementation of extra-territorial agriculture activities, specially in areas of growing rice, corn and barley,” he said.
Bahrami also said that it has been agreed to hold a follow-up meeting in the Kazakh province in near future with Golestan trade delegation in attendance in order to implement provisions of the MoU.
The MoU-signing ceremony was attended by agriculture officials of the two provinces, consul general of Kazakhstan in Iran as well as heads of agriculture and export commissions of Gorgan Chamber.
Earlier in August 2016, a 35-strong economic delegation of Golestan made a three-day visit to Mangystau Region of Kazakhstan where an MoU for reinvigoration of relations was signed and the two sides voiced readiness to strengthen transactions in agricultural, industrial and tourism fields.
