“Under such conditions the idea of oil freeze is raised, which is meaningless in our point of view. They say current output of Iran is the production ceiling, while we had prior to sanctions produced four million barrels per day; it seems that by raising the idea of oil freeze, they wish to impede promotion of our production.”
The parliamentarian said, “Our least demand is reaching the pre-sanction level of oil sale: We should return to exactly four million barrels per day output and our next demand is having a share of 12 percent in the OPEC market. Members of the Organization should meet our least demand because it will not be natural and logical for us, as the old OPEC member, to suffer and sustain damage.”
The lawmaker then announced, “Certain groups wish OPEC acting on politics. This is a grave blunder on part of OPEC. The Islamic Republic of Iran will not cut its oil output level and the parliament also seeks restoration of Iran’s pre-sanction share in the oil market. Early consultations have started on the issue on the sidelines prior to start of the OPEC session.”
