Facts and figures of domestic tourists are given by local and central authorities, but very few, if any, news is heard about foreign travelers coming to Iran.
Although the New Year in Western countries is not the same time as Norouz, from March to May is advised as the best travel time to Iran due to the mild temperature. Nevertheless, the number of foreign tourists coming to Iran is not proportionate to its capacities.

The American news website Business Insider put 'breathtaking mosques' of Iran next to the 'gorgeous natural landscapes' to describe its “untouched tourist attractions”.
Forbes placed Iran on its 'The 10 coolest places to go in 2017' and describes it as 'a journey for culture lovers'.
In addition to the natural and cultural assets, safety has made Iran as one of the favorable tourist destinations in the region. While some countries such as Turkey are struggling with security and political challenges, Iran is generally regarded as the “island of stability”.
Iran's tourism potentials are not confined to what is mentioned here, but the key factor in promoting the sector as a good source of GDP, economic diversity and employment is managing the capacities efficiently and grabbing every opportunity, given the fact that this year is designated as the year of “Economy of Resistance: Production and Employment” by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
