Referring to Iran’s top scientific position in the region, Iranian deputy minister of science Hossein Salar Amoli said: “we believe there are a lot of fields for cooperation between Iran and Latvia. We can schedule for developing scientific cooperation in European Union agenda alongside our bilateral relations”.
“We are ready to sign series of scientific MoUs with Riga and plan operating cooperation then,” he added, pointing to MoUs which were signed recent years with European countries such as Germany, France, Italy, and Austria.
Pildegovics in his part expressed Latvia’s readiness to expand cooperation with Iran in agriculture and forestry areas.
He also stressed on deepening cooperation in Persian literature and Oriental studies between the two countries.
