He said, "We are eager to expand cooperation with Iran in various fields, including energy, transit, agriculture, food processing, transportation and communications, construction of hydraulic power plants by Iranian companies."
He added that Kyrgyzstan supports Iran's presence in the Eurasian Union, believing that economic relations with Iran will upgrade position of the Union.
He asked Iran to support the idea of the new rail transit line, starting from China and going to Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and eventually the Oman Sea and the Indian Ocean via Iran.
President Rouhani for his part said Iran attaches high significance to ties with the Central Asian republics.
He said Iran supports Kyrgyzstan's independent approach towards regional and international issues.
He also asked for expansion of banking relations and said it will ease economic and trade ties. "Undoubtedly, any development of investment and trade ties depends on good banking ties."
