South African energy minister said during this meeting the grounds for cooperation between the two countries in energy field have been provided.
Mentioning to meeting with Iranian petroleum minister BijanZangeneh on Saturday, she said: “I hope the current negotiations in Iran have tangible achievements and can pave the way for more contracts during the upcoming visit of Iranian president Hassan Rouhani to South Africa”.
Shahdaei in her part welcomed the broader negotiations for paving the way to South African companies’ investment in Iran and expressed Tehran’s readiness for signing agreement with South Africa.
Investment in Petrochemical industry and construction of a GTL unit were among the most important issues discussed in negotiation between Iran and South Africa.
South Africa, which had background in participation in petrochemical industry plans in Iran, intends in a new round of cooperation with Iran to build a GTL complex.
