Speaking at a joint press conference with his South African counterpart Baleka Mbete after their meeting in Tehran on Saturday, Larijani said he had good negotiations with the visiting African official on the investment opportunities available for the two countries.
It was proposed in the meeting that Iran invest in the power generation industry in South Africa, he added.
Larijani said that Iran also welcomes South African investment in the oil, gas and petrochemical industry.
Another topic discussed in the meeting was cooperation in the fight against terrorism, the Iranian speaker added.
Mbete arrived in Tehran on Friday for an official visit. Her four-day visit is aimed at strengthening friendly bilateral relations and cooperation between the Iranian and South African legislatures, according to South African Parliament’s website.
