Referring to Tehran-New Delhi common grounds and historic cooperation in various fields, particularly trade and energy, Zarif said he was hopeful that bilateral ties would improve in quantity and quality between the two capitals.
Zarif stressed the need for removing obstacles in the way of Iran-India banking cooperation during the meeting with Jaishankar.
Meanwhile, Jaishankar said that prospects of India relations with Iran were promising.
He described his meetings with senior Iranian officials, especially oil minister Bijan Zangeneh in the field of cooperation in the energy sector as positive.
He also underlined mutual collaboration in the arenas of transit and North-South international corridor.
