Semjen is heading a high-ranking politico-economic delegation during visit to Iran.
Deputy Speaker of Hungarian parliament Janos Latorcai and a number of Hungary’s political and economic figures accompany Semjen during his visit to Tehran.
The Hungarian delegation is expected to meet with the Iranian Vice President for Parliamentary Affairs Hosseinali Amiri and other senior officials.
The visit has been scheduled to boost bilateral relations between the two countries in different fields, including energy, parliament and tourism.
The two sides will also examine ways for the implementation of agreements signed during Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban's visit to Iran in 2015.
In relevant remarks in early February, Iranian Economy Minister Ali Tayyebnia and the Hungarian prime minister in a meeting in Budapest underlined the need for removing obstacles in the way of boosting banking relations between the two countries.
During the meeting, Orban underscored the significance of Tehran-Budapest ties in the areas of energy and economy.
He also called for promotion of economic cooperation between the two countries.
Both officials also emphasized the importance of establishing banking ties and removing existing obstacles, maintaining that allocation of credit lines to economic activities and flexibility in imports and exports will help increase commercial exchanges between the two nations.
