The Paramount Leader said the Islamic Republic of Iran considers glory and progress of Indonesia, that is a highly populous Muslim country, as source of honor and dignity of Muslim Ummah.
The Leader said the Islamic Republic of Iran's approach towards "brotherly" Indonesia state is cooperative in nature, while hailing the country's "good" progress in various domains.
The Ayatollah added that the Islamic Republic of Iran also enjoys vast economic, underground and mineral resources and "We believe Muslim countries should contrary to wishes of enemies, promote each other and avoid differences."
He also referred to agreements and contracts signed by the two countries and said efforts should be made so that the agreements will turn into action and practice.
He added that of course, there are some opposition to the cooperation but "we should overcome them by seriousness and firm will."
The Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution said links and collaboration among Iranian and Indonesian Ulima is blessed and will lead for establishment of constant cooperation between the two countries.
The ongoing "imposed" clashes west of Asia are based on dirty external goals, said Ayatollah Khamenei, praising stances of Indonesia vis-à-vis Palestine. He said many of the crises have been crated with the goal to put the most difficult crisis in the region and the main problem with the world of Islam, i.e. Palestine, into oblivion.
The Iranian top official praised personality of distinguished figure Sukarno and his important role in formation of the Bandung conference, which is the main basis for formation of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) and said today also, Indonesia and the Islamic Republic of Iran hold very close political stances in the international forums.
He also referred to recent quake in Indonesia and wished divine blessing and forgiveness for the dead and patience and calm for the surviving families.
Widodo in turn said Indonesian people are interested in the Islamic Republic of Iran and said the main goal of his visit to Iran was expansion of economic relations, especially in energy.
President Hassan Rouhani was also present in the meeting.
Widodo said constructive talks had been held with Iranian government and it was agreed to build cooperation in gas and refinery, while inviting Iranian companies like Mapna Company to invest in such projects as establishment of power plants in Indonesia.
He said the cooperation will open a new chapter in bilateral relations and said the level of economic relations between the two countries is not worthy of the two big Muslim states and attaining the $20 billion trade volume is an accessible goal.
He said besides energy, Iran and Indonesia can cooperation in other fields like tourism, scientific and academic exchanges.
He deplored instability and crises in the region and said, "We believe if Muslim countries get united, they will turn into a big and influential economic power."
As for Palestine, he said Indonesia considers itself committed to Palestine issue and "We are serious and active in supporting rights of the people of Palestine."
