TEHRAN - Iranian Deputy Oil Minister for International Affairs and Trading Amir-Hossein Zamaninia said Iran will support extending the OPEC, non-OPEC deal to cut oil output beyond 2018, TASS reported.

"Yes, we will support [it]," Zamaninia said at the Oil & Money conference on Tuesday, answering a question on the matter.

The deal by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and non-OPEC producers including Russia to cut supply by about 1.8 million barrels per day runs until March 2018.

The OPEC-led supply cut at present covers 24 countries.

On the sidelines of the conference, Zamaninia also noted that Iran is interested in cooperation with consortiums of Russian, European and Asian companies in oil projects to ramp up the country’s oil production.

"We want that Russian, European and Asian companies work in Iran in consortiums," the official said.

According to the official, Russian oil companies are holding talks with European partners in this regard. He did not mention any further details.

Six Russian oil companies, Rosneft, Gazprom, Gazprom Neft, Lukoil, Tatneft and Zarubezhneft, have signed memorandums on several oil producing projects with the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC).

TEHRAN - Total Chief Executive Patrick Pouyanne said his company will go ahead with Iran deal if the United States decides to impose unilateral sanctions on Teheran.

According to Reuters, in an interview with International Oil Daily, Pouyanne said, however the company would examine the consequences of Trump's decision, and if there are any laws that obliges it to withdraw from Iran, then it will comply.

"If Iran is compliant, if the European Union and China and Russia continue to consider that the JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action) can be applied, then that means the U.S. would have to take unilateral sanctions...," Pouyanne said in the interview published on Tuesday.

"But we will try on our side to obtain the comfort that we can continue the project, which will be our priority," he added.

Last week, Trump refused to formally certify that Iran was complying with the nuclear deal, defying both allies and adversaries. He warned that he might ultimately terminate the agreement. The U.S. Congress now has about two months to decide whether to reinstate sanctions.

Total became the first Western oil major to sign an agreement with Iran to develop phase 11 of Iran's South Pars, the world's largest gas field. Total is the operator of the $5 billion project with a 50.1 percent stake.

TEHRAN – A Norwegian company called Saga Energy has signed a €2.5 billion ($2.94 billion) deal with Iran’s state-owned Amin Energy Developers to build solar power plants in Iran, Reuters reported citing the company’s directors.

Based on the deal, solar power plants with two gigawatts (GW) of power generation capacity will be constructed over a four- to five-year period, Saga Energy spokesman Rune Haaland said.

The company will rely on banks, pension funds and Norwegian state export guarantees to fund the plan, and aims to recoup its investment through a 25-year deal on electricity prices, he added.

While Saga and Lithuania’s SoliTek will produce the solar panels, much of the remaining equipment will come from Taiwan’s Delta Electronics Inc.

Saga’s deal was the latest in a flurry of deals by foreign companies since the easing of international sanctions on the country in 2016 after it agreed to limits on its disputed nuclear program.

This deal comes just days after U.S. President Donald Trump unveiled a more confrontational policy toward Teheran.

“We are a little bit worried about what Trump is doing, we are very much in favor of the atomic deal, but we will of course continue with our plans whatever Trump does, no doubt about that, nothing can change that,” Saga’s Haaland said.

TEHRAN- Iranian government spokesman Mohammad Baqer Nobakht said on Tuesday that the country’s non-oil gross domestic product grew by seven percent during the first half of the present Iranian calendar year (March 21-September 22, 2017), IRIB news reported.

As Nobakht announced in late July, GDP of Iran, including oil sector, stood at 11.1 percent in the past Iranian calendar year (ended on March 20, 2017), while non-oil GDP growth stood at 6.4 percent in the same time.

He said these figures were released after the Statistical Center of Iran changed the base year from Iranian calendar year 1376 (March 97-March 98)to 1390 (March 2011-March 2012), while the GDP growth, including oil sector, had been announced 8.3 percent and non-oil GDP growth was put at 6.3 percent before that change.

Tehran (ISNA) - Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has warned that Iran will cut the nuclear deal with six world powers into shreds if the other party chooses to tear it up.

Speaking at a Wednesday meeting with a group of Iranian academic elites in Tehran, Ayatollah Khamenei welcomed the European governments’ condemnation of US President Donald Trump’s recent decision not to certify Iran’s compliance with the nuclear deal, officially called the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

“But this is not enough for them (EU) to say that he (Trump) should not tear up the JCPOA. The JCPOA serves their interests. As long as the other party has not torn up the JCPOA, we will not tear it up,” said the Leader, warning that Iran will cut the deal into shreds if the other side tears it up.

He said Europeans need to take practical measures in the face of Washington’s threats to the deal, and refuse to join voices with the US in its opposition to Iran's regional role and defense program.

Europe, the Leader said, should “avoid meddling with our defense issues.”

Ayatollah Khamenei also dismissed Western criticisms of Iran’s conventional missile program, noting, “Why do you, yourself, have missiles? Why do you have atomic bombs?”

The Leader went on to say that Iran has managed to stand against “the US hegemony” and make progress under pressure and sanctions, adding that Washington’s anger stems from the Islamic Republic’s strong role in the fight against the Takfiri Daesh terror group.

“The US is the agent of the international Zionism; the US is the creator of Daesh and the Takfiri current; Do you expect the US not to be angry with the very force which is standing against Daesh? They are furious because the Islamic Republic has managed to thwart their plots” in regional states, including Iraq, Syria and Lebanon, Ayatollah Khamenei pointed out.

The Leader further denounced Trump’s latest insults against the Iranian nation, saying it would be "a waste of time to respond to such blatherings and nonsensical remarks by the foulmouthed US president."

Tehran (ISNA) - French oil and gas major Total will try to push ahead with its Iran gas project if the United States decides to impose unilateral sanctions on Teheran after President Donald Trump said he will not certify the 2015 nuclear deal.

Total Chief Executive Officer Patrick Pouyanne said in an interview with International Oil Daily the company would examine the consequences of Trump's decision, and if there are any laws that obliges it to withdraw from Iran, then it will comply.

"If Iran is compliant, if the European Union and China and Russia continue to consider that the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action known as JCPOA can be applied, then that means the U.S. would have to take unilateral sanctions...," Pouyanne said in the interview published on Tuesday.

Pouyanne said Total was weighing its options and all would depend on the U.S. Congress and if it decides to reinstate the sanctions, and what kinds of sanctions.

"We have signed a contract in Iran. If we can move forward, we'll move forward. If we cannot, we will have to stop. That's life," Pouyanne is quoted in the interview as saying.

He added that there was little financial risk to Total from the current situation because it will only make an investment decision on the project around the end of the year.

According to the Reuters, Total became the first Western oil major to sign an agreement with Iran to develop phase 11 of Iran's South Pars, the world's largest gas field. Total is the operator of the $5 billion project with a 50.1 percent stake.

Iran's deputy oil minister for trade and international affairs told a conference in London separately on Tuesday that Trump's headline policy will not hurt the country's oil industry.

Tehran (ISNA) - Iranian President Hassan Rouhani stressed that Washington’s traditional allies are siding with Tehran over the nuclear deal.

Rouhani made the remarks on Tuesday referring to the US President Donald Trump’s recent razzmatazz concerning the domestic certification of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action known as JCPOA.

“Even Washington’s traditional allies, such as Europe, not only refrained from supporting the US government, but also they immediately issued statements and gave speeches announcing their decisive opposition and stressed their support for the JCPOA and cooperation with Iran,” Rouhani said.

On Monday, European Union foreign ministers reaffirmed their support for the historic nuclear agreement, saying the accord is working and is a key part of non-proliferation efforts.

Rouhani also said that the Trump administration’s disregard for international agreements has put Washington on a path of isolation and discredit.

While slamming Trump over his baseless allegations against Tehran, Rouhani further expressed confidence that the Iranian nation’s solidarity along with the international community’s support for the nuclear deal will pressure the US into reviewing its anti-Tehran policies.

The Iranian president also noted that the stability and calmness in the market has proved that Iran's economy is now resistible to foreign political pressures.

Tehran (ISNA) - Just days after US President Donald Trump called for further isolation of Iran, a Norwegian solar company signed a deal to invest €2.5 billion (S$4 billion) in the country over the next five years.

"Norway is fully committed to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action known as the JCPOA and this is proof that we have taken the opening very seriously, and we will see more investment very soon," Norwegian ambassador Lars Nordrum told AFP.

He was hosting the signing at his residence in Teheran between Norway's Saga Energy, which will work with Iran's Amin Energy Developers to install two gigawatts of solar panels in multiple sites around the central desert region.

It comes just days after Trump gave a bellicose speech, imposing further sanctions on Iran and calling for European allies to curb their financial dealings with the country.

The new solar project is being financed by a consortium of European private and state investors, and backed by a sovereign guarantee from the government of Iran.

"We hope to build a factory in Iran to build the panels so that we are also generating jobs," said Saga's development manager Gaute Steinkopf at the signing.

"I'd like to thank Norway, which has always been one of the best friends to Iran, for this exciting opportunity," the head of international affairs for Amin Saeid Zakeri said.

It is the second largest investment deal in Iran since a landmark 2015 nuclear deal was agreed between Tehran and world powers - including the US - which saw an easing of crippling sanctions on the country.

A host of European countries have attempted to strike lucrative deals with Iran once the trade embargo dropped.

Norway has already agreed a $1 billion credit line with Iran, with trade ties strengthening between the two countries.

Tehran (ISNA) – Iranian foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif stressed that warmongers were more worried that Iran abide by the landmark 2015 nuclear agreement than violate it.

“Warmongers confess they’re more worried that we abide by #JCPOA than violate it. No spin will mask this,” Zarif said on his official Twitter account on Tuesday referring to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent remarks.

“US should try to comply-just like us,” he added.

When on Saturday Zarif in a tweet staged support for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which was targeted by US President Trump, the tweet came under spotlight all over the world.

On Monday, Netanyahu posted a video message on his social network account asking Zarif to delete his Twitter account.

Zarif described Netanyahu’s remarks as belligerent and added that the reason the “Warmongers” are angry is that Iran has been committed to the nuclear agreement.
